May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii

Aloha Everyone -- Today is Lei Day here in Hawaii and it was a beautiful day.  I was blessed and I was able to attend church this morning at Cornerstone. I road with my friend, Marisa, when she went to get her kids from the Anime convention last night and she dropped me off at my sister's home in Mililani Mauka.  So, I got to attend 2nd service today. It was a great service from Pastor Charley.  He is doing a series on Resilience and today was on Matthew 6:33.  Mainly about not worrying.  Pastor Charley got our attention right off the bat by putting on this huge free weight that must have been like 30 lbs with a white rope around his neck.  Last week he used the two basketballs that looked that looked the same but one was bouncy and the other was flat.    One thing stressed was when we focus on the Lord and put our trust in Him and when we pray as He teaches us to pray, He said, 'Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallow be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven, grant us this day, our daily bread, ... He didn't say many days, but daily...  God wants us to focus on Daily needs not to worry about down the road and to borrow worry from the future.  That is what stuck with me from this sermon.  At the end of the sermon, Pastor Charley put back on the big weight and showed how heavy that burden was.  We don't need to grab those burdens.

After church, Susan and I went to the Tea Fellowship meeting that Vicky chaired.  The Tea Fellowship is May 7th from 1130am until 2pm.  For the team hosting we are meeting next Friday to help set up and again Saturday morning to continue setting up.  KukaMalia is in charge of the table decorations.  Right now, there are approximately 20 ladies coming.  Should be a nice event.  Three of the women's ministry small groups will be showing their upcoming series books that they will be starting and two upcoming activities along with the Women's Island Conference at Ko'olau in August.

After lunch, I came home and called Joanna to leave her a message to wish her a happy Lei Day and to thank her for the beautiful paper.  I also called Arlyn and we had a nice chat.  God had me call Arlyn for a reason.  We prayed together.  Charles hopefully comes home on Tuesday.  I challenged Arlyn to tell someone a positive each day.  For myself, I have found that this has helped me so much in dealing with the depression side of my fibromyalgia.  God has shown me a way to be used by realizing that I can connect with others by noticing others through their clothes, hair, makeup  and such.  I was really doing this this morning in church.  This past week, each day I awoke feeling 'like the cat drug me in' so today I really made a point to hug the ladies and say something nice about each one of them.  Even when the music started, I just felt that I needed to keep right on doing that so I did until I got back to my seat.

Well, it is going on 1030pm and it is getting late.  Aloha for tonight.  nite nite sweet dreams  cc
